Ambrose Air, Inc. is an HVAC company that has been in Orlando since 1990 performing installations, repair, and maintenance on all air conditioning units.
Introduction
We opened our doors to Ambrose Air, Inc. back in 1990 servicing most air conditioning units, and quickly started to expand to have many team members and technicians who help service customers every day.
Experience
Through the employees we have, there is over seventy years combined experience working on all air conditioning makes. We started working primarily with Trane before moving to Carrier, and are now proud Daikin specialists, though we have capability of still maintaining and fixing any systems.
Services Offered
AC Repair
whether there is an issue with the handler or condenser, whether the drain line is clogged, or the fan motor is simply not turning, Ambrose Air, Inc. can fix most problems that arise with your system. We have emergency service throughout the night in the event that your AC goes out at the worst time.
AC Installation
In some cases the repairs are too extensive, or the unit itself is just too old. In these instances, Ambrose Air, Inc. is capable of installing handlers and condensers on your property, and ensuring that your house remains cool throughout the year.
Commercial AC Repair
Much like with residences, commercial buildings in Orlando have need for air conditioning, and the same issues can arise. Our technicians are certified to work on any size unit for any commercial property.
Commercial AC Installation
Usually a much bigger installation than a single handler or condenser, a commercial install can be days of work. Our team is specialized to not only troubleshoot problems, but also install entirely new systems for either a buildout or necessary replacement.
Ice Machine Repair
We don’t just work on air conditioning, and also will fix any issues with refrigeration units or ice machines on your property. Whether they have frozen over, or are simply not cooling efficiently, we can find and solve the issue.

We are Daikin Comfort Pros, which means we are certified to work on all Daikin equipment. Our founder, Pat Ambrose, is also a prominent board member of the Florida Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (FRACCA), as well as on the Orlando area chapter.
Where we came from
Doreen and I got married and moved from Warren,Ohio to Orlando in spring of 1983. I worked for several other air conditioning companies while Doreen continued in banking. In the spring of 1986 we added to our family with the birth of our first son, Kevin. Three years later his little brother Eric joined us. Doreen and I continued to work for other companies while we started to get the itch to start our own business.
“Great company! I was referred to them by a friend after my AC completely stopped working. They really pulled through for me and I am extremely grateful..”
– Tomasa Prus
How we got started
I knew if we were going to start our own business, I would have to get my state license. I got my license in 1987 and started to do little jobs while keeping my day job. In 1990 Doreen and I decided it was time to take the leap and we opened Ambrose Air. For the first couple years it was mostly just me doing all the work and Doreen helping with the books when she got home from her day job. As things started to take off I hired a few different helpers and we were in business.

What is the SEER Rating?
The SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) is how the efficiency of your heating and cooling equipment is measured. The SEER is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity, as compared to other systems. For example, a 3-ton unit may have a SEER efficiency rating of 13, 14, or 15. The higher the SEER the more efficient the system will be. The SEER rating of any given unit can range anywhere from 13 to 21.
Which brand of AC is the best?
Why is the SEER rating on the Energy Guide different than what my dealer quoted?
Why should I have regular (or preventative) maintenance? And how often should I have it performed?
Your heating and cooling systems work incredibly hard to perform their functions for your home everyday. The constant stopping, starting and continual operation can wear down any machine if the proper care and maintenance is delayed. However, by performing regular maintenance, you can maximize the lifecycle of your heating or cooling unit and guard against many common equipment failures. Preventive maintenance inspections performed on a regular basis can uncover leaks, rust, rot, soot, frayed wires and corroded electrical contacts that the naked eye may not notice. You should have maintenance done on your system regularly to ensure maximum efficiency and allow prevent possible problems that may occur in the near future.
What equipment requires regular (or preventative) maintenance?
At least twice a year heat pumps and air conditioners require a professional tune-up. Because gas-fired equipment functions with greater efficiency, they only need to be serviced every other year. Inspections on boiler and furnace systems should include ductwork, pipes, dampers, valves, the chimney, registers, radiators, pumps, blowers, fuel lines, the gas meter, oil tank and every part of the actual furnace and boiler. Meanwhile, heat pump and air conditioning unit inspections should also include inspections of the fan, compressor, indoor coils, outdoor coils, line kits and refrigerant lines.

What are the advantages of a programmable thermostat?
Since they are electronic, programmable thermostats are more accurate and efficient than thermostats that contain mercury. With programmable thermostats you can control the temperature in your home at different times of day without ever touching your thermostat. Because everything is automatic, you will never forget to change the setting on your own.
What type of filter should I use? And how often should I replace it?
Standard filters work to keep your system and its ductwork clean, but they don’t really improve indoor air quality. To do that you need a media filter. The media filter rests between the main return duct and the blower cabinet and will improve dust and particle removal by seven times that of a standard filter. However, upgrading to a pleated media filter will remove everything from insecticide dust to airborne viruses from the filtered air. Always choose a filter that matches your blower’s capacity. For optimum efficiency and filtration,Ambrose Air, Inc. recommends that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.
